Made in Hoboken, NJ- this Guild Starfire is an early example of the legendary model when it featured DeArmond pickups not unlike the ones found in late 50s/early 60s Gretsches. The neck pickup was replaced with a real 1970s Seth Lover Seymour Duncan which sounds positively stunning. Early style "open book" headstock shape with still crisp inlay, Guild "harp" tailpiece, and the original Hagstrom-made "Adjust-O-Matic" bridge. There's much to be said about this guitar. It plays phenomenally well, it's got a bright and open top end and chords played with the low 'E' reveal it's mystifying deep resonance. The cherry finish has aged to an elegant burgundy/brown. Includes Epiphone hardshell case.
