1960 Fender Vibrolux 5F11 Narrow Panel 10-Watt Guitar Combo (12" Speaker Mod) Amp
In on consignment is a legendary sounding 1960 tweed Fender Vibrolux! The Vibroluxes of this era were much lower power than later models- a great recording option at 10W with a 10" speaker. This one however was modified to fit a 12" speaker at some point in its life and sports a 1963 Utah ceramic speaker. Rich, early overdrive is one of the hallmarks of the tweed era and this Vibrolux gets there with ease using single coils or humbuckers. The tremolo has a nice range of speed and can nearly bring the amp to a full mute- even when overdriven. The circuit is largely original, pots date to 1960. There's some cone cry when you crank it, but the speaker sounds perfectly fine at lower levels. The cab is original but has been re-covered and the grill cloth is new.
