Just in, on consignment we have a super cool 1971 P-Bass in black with a rosewood board! Lots of naturals and bursts and maple boards running around out there- but not so many are tall, dark, and handsome like this one!
This great playing, vintage piece is from an interesting era in Fender's history; doing poly base coats with nitro over top. You can see checking throughout the body, but it doesn't penetrate as deeply as a full nitro finish- creating a more consistent and subtle effect. The super light body on this one will be very forgiving on the shoulder, and assists with the marvelous resonance this bass has! Mostly original head to toe- the pickup and wiring harness is non-original and unknown. The pots date to '78, and we can't say much about the pickup except it is highly dynamic, and growls in the midrange! Good fret height and slinky action make this one a great choice for people looking in the "player grade" arena. This one will be ready to rock as soon as you take it out of the case!
Very Good condition, includes OHSC!
