Just in! This '77 Tele Custom is an awesome player-grade piece at a great price! Finding one of these without all their original accouterments is a great way to buy into a vintage Fender and keep it under $3k. This one plays smoothly all over the neck with larger fret wire, and a slightly slimmer profile due in part to the thorough sanding job. The original Wide Range pickup has tons of bark and adds a ton of flexibility to the guitar. It's currently wired out of phase with the Twisted Tele bridge pickup so you can get some super quacky, faux Peter Green tones from the middle position. All rewired in-house here at El Diablo with Emerson Pro 500K pots for the humbucker, and 250K for the bridge single coil. Overall the body finish is in nice shape; the little holes in the body are from woodworm- the original weight relieving technology! It could be a reason that this example- which comes from a notoriously heavy era- weighs a suspiciously light 7 lbs even. However there is no structural damage to the guitar, and no cause for concern! This beauty is a great opportunity for some of you out there, don't hesitate!
