1978/1979 Fender Stratocaster - Player Grade, Refinished, Neck Replacement

Here's an excellent, player-grade vintage Fender! With 70s mojo to spare, this guitar is perfect for someone who is perhaps just getting into vintage guitars or simply wants a badass black Strat! The body is either a 79 or 80 with a thick, road-worn black finish. The neck dates to 78 or 79 with a stripped and refretted fingerboard, and classic sun-stained nitro headstock face. Plays nice with medium-low action, medium jumbo frets, and 10-46 strings. No complaints from those of us at the shop who really like to bend! The Genesis 635 pickup set has a fantastic array of tones; specifically, the 4 position really shines on this guitar with sparkly, quacky cleans and thick overdrive. These pickups were custom-made to emulate the Silver Sky pickup set, and have flat pole pieces with Mustang pickup covers. The wiring harness has a push/push bridge tone pot which functions to add the neck pickup in the bridge position for a Neck/Bridge pickup combo which gives some great middle position Tele rhythm tones.

It's a unique offering, but anyone would have fun playing this guitar! The previous owner really went through the work to make this machine something special- a recognizable guitar that Fender may just base your signature model on ;)
