1983 Guild X-500 Hollow Body Electric Guitar - Sunburst

We love Guild guitars here at El Diablo, and this opulent jazz box comes from the early 80s- where the genre spread out quite a bit from straight, to elevator, to acid! But, the X-500 had a knack of fitting itself in across the wide world of jazz, and it would look good doing it.

This particular era of sunburst displayed a very tobacco/walnut quality with none of the red or orange from earlier productions. This change in hue really makes the gold hardware pop, and settles in elegantly with the ebony bridge and fingerboard. Extra wide frets for light and fast play pair well with the skinny C shape neck- suffice it to say, the X500 handles like a Corvette! Unplugged you'll find a percussive and woody tone that really barks out of the f-holes, but this can be tamed through an amp with the tone controls. The master volume is a widely used and beloved feature from Guild for its pickup blending capabilities- turn up the amp and get complete control over your output!

Displaying modest play wear, you can expect pick scratches, light patina on the hardware, a few small chips in the finish, and light fret wear from the 1st-5th fret. There is a somewhat more significant chip in the finish of the headstock faceplate around the b string tuning post. Aside from these things, this guitar is in amazing condition, plays great, and features all original parts. Great for a collector or player!
