1990s Fender Japan JM-66 Jazzmaster - Candy Apple Red

Just in! This is a gorgeous player grade Jazzmaster from Fender Japan with a handful of upgrades and modifications. As far as we can tell this is a JM-66 from the mid 90s, but with the x'd out serial number on the neck heel and attempted neck pocket routing, we can't be sure if this body and neck left the factory together or not. However, we are sure they are both official Fender products. The electronics were swapped out with a snappy and hum free set of Curtis Novak wide range Jazzmaster pickups, CTS 1MEG pots, and wired up for a quasi-Gretsch style pickup blending system. The two lower volume controls are routed to the neck and bridge pickups respectively, and then the tone control from the rhythm circuit is "always-in" and will roll off tone for both pickups. So this means the middle position on the pickup selector allows for a wide range of tones by blending the levels of each pickup. The bridge was swapped out with a Mustang bridge (a very common mod) and offers a buzz/ring free playing experience.

This JM plays great and is in overall pretty great shape short of the typical wear you'd expect. The neck pocket has some dremel scars- someone may have tried to open or deepen the neck pocket, but didn't finish the job. The neck sits securely in the body with proper angle, and we can say fearlessly that this guitar is ready to gig!
