This Jazzmaster is looking sumptuous on our wall here at El Diablo with Plum Sparkle finish and an anodized gold guard. The Artist Series guitars from Japan were built well above par for their price point, and people have continued to flock to them. This J Mascis model looks like a million bucks, and plays just the same. Low, responsive action that requires only a light touch (preferable for gazing), and a great feeling, sensitive tremolo arm that can easily showcase the Kevin Shields' glide guitar technique. The frets show some light wear but are in overall great shape and have a long life ahead of them. There are only two noticeable finish flaws which are situated on the back of the guitar (bottom bout, near the same spot as the input jack and by the elbow contour). The bridge pickup was swapped at one point, but the original has been returned to the guitar. Set up fresh with 10s and intonated, this guitar is going to make some lucky player really happy!
