The Faux Tone Machine is a take on the (you guessed it) Foxx Tone Machine- which offered a wooly fuzz with upper octave emphasis. In recent years there have been a number of clones made of the Tone Machine- BLAMMO! gets the sound right in a good looking doublewide enclosure with footswitchable octave.
