The High Plains Riffter comes from Super Larry amps right here in Minneapolis, MN! The 20W 7591 platform is straight out of the 50s/60s golden age of tone, but the Riffter has enough headroom to accommodate modern players and pedalboard requirements. The sound of the power section rests somewhere between 6L6 and 6V6- not as barky as 6Ls, but less squishy and cleaner than 6Vs. With input/output volume controls and the Passive Aggressive Resonance/Presence tilt control you can attain just the right balance of bite and intelligibility and get the most mileage out of your favorite overdrives. But, the inherent tone of this amp leaves little to be desired and the "past meets future" mid-century modern look really stands out on stage. As a matter of fact it would pair up nicely next to an Eames lounge chair too! Few things grab eyes like a Super Larry, and these handbuilt custom amplifiers are only made one at a time so snap it up while you can!
