1971-1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom "Cherry Sunburst" - 10.3 lbs w/OHSC

Have you ever seen a more beautiful Cherry Sunburst?! This "fretless wonder" Kalamazoo Custom just hit the floor and boy, does it look pretty under the lights. From the subtly tarnished gold hardware to the blue/pink/green glint of the MOP inlay- this LPC brings about certain feelings of joy and nostalgia for the explosion of rock and roll in the 60s and 70s. Just think- when this guitar was made Led Zeppelin IV was new, James Gang just recorded In Concert, T Rex's Electric Warrior was released, and the Allman Brothers unleashed the monolith Live at Fillmore East. What do they all have in common? The Gibson Les Paul.

The late 60s brought about change in the Gibson factory- beginning with the pancake body, 3-piece neck, and 3-piece top. The debate will go on forever about whether or not this choice was favorable to the consumer or Gibson's accounting team, but every guitar needs to be taken on its own merits! This one has outstanding marks. The neck is rock solid with plenty of movement in the truss rod, and a great feeling slim 60s pattern. The solid 10.3lb build sustains almost infinitely, and with a touch of compression you'll be able to play diamonds on even the slowest ballad. The sticker PAFs have cut and clarity unlike many others, but still a glorious fat and chunky quality that does wonders to an overdriven amp. The frets are definitely worn down, but that's exactly how these things got their name! After a couple level and crown's you'd be flush with the fingerboard, but through it all they would play lightning fast with light pick technique!

All original aside from the Mighty Mite Tailpiece and one of the bridge posts! The stamped pickup covers are the crown jewel of this beauty, only available late-1971 to early-1973!
