Just in on consignment, we have a positively beautiful 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 bass, left-handed, in Mapleglo.

Rickenbacker commanded the late 70s and 80s punk/indie scene with bands like The Jam, REM, Dinosaur Jr, and The Cure all featuring 4001 basses on stage. The legend of the Ric 4001 extends far beyond the birth of alternative rock in both directions, but to put into perspective- the same year this bass came out we got: All Mod Cons by the Jam, Generation X by Generation X, and The Cars - all of which heavily feature this same iconic bass.

The Mapleglo finish has softened to a lush satin, the bridge was replaced with a Badass II bridge (a common mod for people who want to palm mute), and it features just the right amount of wear to alert you that this bass is vintage, but has been well loved and cared for. The pickups sound fantastic and have that punch Ric players crave. The frets are original and have good height to them, and the nibs are intact. Overall the bass plays beautifully (even upside down for us right handers!) and feels solid.
