Description
The Moonbow is an adaptation of a classic voltage-controlled dual-mode filter paired with a hot-rodded version of the channel strip from the Land Devices Mixer. The filter is placed in front of the overdrive, for gentle signal compression or bold saturation of its resonant peaks. The ability to choose between HP/LP resonant filter modes allows you to find a sweet spot when coupled with the gain. Dial back the resonance for more conventional sounds or crank it to push the filter to its limits. A 3.5mm jack on the face of the Moonbow allows for external expression control via CV, ideal for those looking to integrate this pedal with their modular rig, or other synthesizers and expression devices. 
 
CONTROLS
 
  • GAIN: Adjustable from -13dB to +20dB. Turn clockwise to increase gain.
  • LVL: Output volume level. Turn CCW to cut and CW to boost.
  • CUTOFF: Adjusts the frequency range of the filter from 20Hz to 5kHz.
  • RES: Controls the resonance of the filter. Caution should be exercised when pushing past seventy percent. Strong oscillations will occur.
  • HP/LP toggle: Switch between high pass filter & low pass filter.
  • CV IN: Control voltage input for ‘CUTOFF.’ Accepts 0-5V.
 

For CV control, there are a variety of devices available: several eurorack modules, Mission Engineering EQD-1, TWA Side-Step, Pedal Brainz, Dreadbox Psyclop and others.
