Lyle Brewer is the rare virtuoso who never lets virtuosity get in the way of a song. The Massachusetts guitarist and Berklee College of Music professor moves effortlessly through jazz, folk, classical and fingerstyle guitar, creating thoughtful instrumental music that captures a memory and holds it delicately in space and time.

USA Today called Brewer’s technical ability “staggering,” while Vintage Guitar praised his distinctive voice and devotion to the song. A founding guitarist of Neighbor, Brewer has also performed with Lori McKenna and Ryan Montbleau.

Brewer comes to Jazz Central ahead of the November 12 release of his new album, Learning Curve, for an intimate evening of solo guitar: melodic, adventurous, and rich with emotion.
