Here for sale, we have a 1963 Fender Jaguar, showcasing a beautifully aged three color Sunburst finish. This guitar has all the vibe and personality you'd be expecting from a vintage instrument, while retaining maximum playability and heart wrenchingly nostalgic sound.

Introduced in 1962 as Fender's "premium" instrument, the Jaguar was heralded in the 1962 Catalog as a groundbreaking addition to their lineup of electric instruments, presenting several new innovative concepts in solid body guitars. Drawing inspiration from the Jazzmaster- Fender's prior flagship model- the Jaguar incorporated design elements such as the offset body shape, separate bridge and vibrato, and dual-circuit electronics for lead and rhythm. Expanding on this foundation, the Jaguar introduced a new 22-fret, shorter scale 24” neck and enhanced switching for the dual-circuit electronics. Notably, it was the first instrument offering a new, narrower nut width and optional out-of-phase sounds. While it gained popularity in the Surf guitar scene, the Jaguar never quite stepped out of the shadows of the iconic Stratocaster and Telecaster. The model enjoyed a 13-year run until its discontinuation by CBS-era Fender in 1975, later revived by Fender Japan in the mid-eighties.

This exceptional guitar, dating back to late 1963, preserves many sought-after features of Pre-CBS Fenders. Like the beautifully worn nitro sunburst finish that the Fender Custom Shop should take notes on, Brazilian board, clay dots, and celluloid guard. Minimal fading is observed under the pickguard and control covers. The L-series serial number indicates a late ’63 instrument and 1 OCT 63B neck stamp remains legible.

The guitar functions flawlessly, plays beautifully, and is every bit what you'd hope to get as a collector or a player. Note the rare blonde case which ties this guitar to a very brief period in Fender's original era. We'll be sad to see this one go, that's for sure!
