Evidence Audio SIS/Monorail Solderless Patch Cable Kit (8 Ends + 5ft of Cable)
The Monorail cable features a pure solid IGL copper conductor, which is softer than brass, making it ideal for creating a secure connection with the SIS plug. The SIS plug, made from brass (which is slightly harder than copper), is precisely machined with internal threads designed to cut and reshape the soft copper conductor when twisted around it. As the prepared cable is inserted into the plug, turning the plug one or two times allows the brass to catch and cut into the copper conductor, ensuring a solid connection. Once the cap is in place and the SIS plug is screwed into it, the copper is pushed deeper into the plug, creating a secure ground contact. The airtight seal achieved in the process ensures the cable stays tightly connected, while also preventing the plug and cap from loosening over time.
